Friday 8 May, the 75th anniversary of VE Day took place.
We express our thanks to the History Societies in Long Buckby and West Haddon for providing us with archive materials from WWII with an emphasis on the VE Day Celebrations in both villages. The commentary accompanying the slides is voiced by different members of the Benefice. Interspersed with the archive material are the personal memories of three members of our Churches about the VE Day Celebrations 75 years ago. We are very grateful indeed that each of them was willing to be filmed at home, via an internet connection, as their stories give a greater personal insight into community events during May 1945 than archive materials are able to.
